Essaouira life
I fell in love with this town in early 2018 when I visited to look after a friend’s apartment. I return when I can but when this isn’t possible, my paintings and drawings are able to transport me back to this magical (and possibly piratical) place.
I started off using my own reference images. Of course, once I realised I was more interested in street life than in architecture, I asked my very good, local friend Regragui Aitbella to continue taking photographs for me to use. I am so grateful for his generous spirit.
These paintings are all in acrylic on watercolour paper. They vary in size between roughly A4 and not quite A2, and many are available for purchase.
