Sketches

13 June 2023
Here I’m featuring a collection of sketches I did of Essaouira in Morocco, sitting snug in my studio, waiting out the Pandemic. So very much luckier than many people, I know.

I have at least a shelf full of sketchbooks in my collection. I’d say a large proportion of these are from Life Drawing sessions. Others are work on specific projects, or courses I have taken. Some are full of all kinds of different drawings, ideas and fully completed paintings!

This page currently shows Essaouira sketches. I think it would be a good idea to start including other subjects and other starting points. One sketchbook was used to clean my brayer (roller) when making monoprints. This has given me a bas set of colours on each page, which can lead to all sorts of things.

I think it might be nice to offer prints of these. No originals, as I am not monster enough to rip good pages out of a bound sketchbook. Do please get in touch if any catch your eye.

Larger street scene drawings

I have written a blog post about three detailed images I drew in coloured pencil. They are Moroccan street scenes.
